The project focuses on the development, production, integration, and launch of two small CubeSat (8U) satellites into orbital paths at an altitude of 500–600 km, with launch scheduled for mid-2027. ČVC Electronics and Stellar.Space are providing launch capacity for the Falcon 9 launch vehicle as part of the Rideshare Launches program.
The project is based on a NewSpace concept, which utilizes cooperation between the academic and private sectors in the Czech Republic and the Slovakia Republic for innovation in the field of space technologies in short development cycles. Cooperation between Czech and Slovak universities will enable a number of scientific and research experiments, particularly in the field of space telecommunications and image data processing from on-board cameras using AI.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague is involved in the project through experiments and activities in the Steering committee of the Department of Radio Electronics (Doc. Pavel Kovář, Dr. Jiří Svatoň) and the Department of Telecommunications Engineering (Prof. Zdeněk Bečvář, Ing. Petr Ondráček).
Infrastruktura družicové sekce Radioklubu bude využita jako záložní pozemní družicová stanice pro zajištění provozu a sběru dat z experimentů v pásmu UHF (435 MHz) a S (2.2 GHz).
This is a great opportunity for our students to get involved in this project. If you are interested, please contact the head of the satellite section, P. Ondráček.
